Originating from Nagoya, Japan, Tonkatsu by Ma Maison exclusively serves up a variety of tonkatsu or deep-fried golden brown pork cutlet - one of Japan’s most loved dishes. Founded by restaurateur and chef Akinori Terazawa, Ma Maison is an indulgent celebration of traditional Japanese cuisine with more than 30 restaurants in Japan, Singapore and Malaysia.

Tonkatsu by Ma Maison opened its first outlet in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in January 2013. It has since become a frequent favourite among the locals and the Japanese community in Kuala Lumpur for the quality of meat cuts and the authenticity of food preparation. Proudly rated as “Top 10 Tonkatsu Restaurant in Tokyo”, we serve up a variety of tonkatsu or deep-fried pork cutlet using only the highest-grade ingredients prepared meticulously by our chefs.

Founded by restaurateur and chef Akinori Terazawa with the intention of making the best tonkatsu in town. The town was Nagoya, Japan, and the promise was made in 1976. Until today, we maintain the intricate preparations that make Japanese tradition special. We carefully age the hand-selected pork, giving it time to absorb flavour while keeping its natural juices intact. Nama panko, which is softer than the average breadcrumbs, creates a softer crumb for a light, unobstructed crisp before deep frying the succulent pieces using vegetable oil.

Ma Maison means my home or house in French. We want customers to feel at home when they dine with us. At Ma Maison, we serve more than 20 tonkatsu dishes and each tonkatsu set meal comes refillable with rice, cabbage and tonjiru soup (miso soup with pork).
